Washington Initiative 645
Repeal the tax on income over $1 million and bar income taxes by statute · November 3, 2026 · Tax year 2028
What Initiative 645 would do

Current law and if it passes
| Group | Current law | If it passes |
|---|---|---|
| Tax rate on income above the deduction | 9.9% | No tax |
| Standard deduction (per household) | $1 million | Not applicable |
| Charitable deduction | Up to $100,000 | Not applicable |
| State and local taxes on individual income | No statutory ban on state income taxes; counties and cities may not tax net income (RCW 36.65.030) | Prohibited by statute |
Who is affected
